Newchem ACC-C65 Portland cement set accelerator

Newchem ACC-C65 is an amorphous calcium aluminate (ACA) based clinker which can be used as additive for Portland cements to accelerate the early and final set of concrete and mortars. Newchem ACC-C 65. Newchem ACC-C65 was originally developed in Japan to be applied in HPC / UHPC concrete. The initial requirement was to achieve 30 MPa within 3 hours. Unlike conventional calcium aluminate (CAC) cements with a crystalline structure, Newchem ACC-C65 provides also excellent durability in outdoor applications, as the main binder remains Portland cement due to the low dosage level.

Unlike conventional calcium aluminate (CAC) cements with a crystalline structure, Newchem ACC-C65 is based on an amorphous clinker. For perfect performance perfromance Newchem ACC-C65 should be applied in combination with Portland cement, which provides the source of calcium hydroxide (portlandite) or calcium hydroxide should be added. The workability time can be controlled by the amount of set retarder. For this purpose we recommend Denka D 200 as set retarder, which ensures the highest strength values and a narrow transition time between the pasty consistency and cured concrete. The amount of Newchem ACC-C65 must be taken into account as additional binder beside OPC when calculating the water-cement (binder) ratio.
