What is Namex XA?
Namex XA is a highly effective magnesium oxide-based cement admixture containing special minerals developed to control the shrinkage of concrete.
How does Namex XA work?
Namex XA reacts with water to form new hydrates. During the hardening of the cement paste, the volume of Namex XA increases, which reduces shrinkage.
This volume increase pre-stresses the crystal structure of the concrete, which reduces autogenous but mainly drying shrinkage.
Since Namex XA is characterized by a slower hydration compared to Denka CSA#20, it is best suited for compensating for the drying shrinkage of concrete. Due to its moderate water requirement, it is beneficial for reducing the drying shrinkage of concretes with a very low water-cement (water-binder) ratio.
The low heat of hydration allows the use of Namex XA in concrete structures with large wall thicknesses.

Dosage
The recommended lower limit of dosage is usually 3% of the cement weight, and in the case of optimal dosage, 4-5% of the cement weight (depending on the recipe).
Namex XA must be added to the mixer after the cement, before adding water, and mixed until the material is perfectly distributed.
